Wootton-Under-Edge 1 – 2 BAC (12/03/16)

So this week BAC 1sts were away at Wootton under edge , It was an early start but the sun was shining.

After a good warm up although a little rushed as couldn’t get on the pitch until 10am, the game started – although we didn’t start very well at all, Wootton were well up for this and it certainly felt like an away game as lots of people watching and all cheering for Wootton.

BAC 1 – 5 Bristol University2

Back home after a month of travelling up and down the M5, BAC welcomed Bristol Uni 2 to their home pitch. The warm up was much needed, as although dry this week, it was bitterly cold.

It was a hard fought first half with chances at both ends. In between telling Ellie to stop saying ‘Sorry’ all the time, Bex guarded her goal well, even thwarting a 1 on 1 after a Uni breakaway. The very end of the half saw Cheryl given a green card for one to many over enthusiastic tackles. Goalless at half time.

Blockley 5 – 4 BAC

It was another ridiculously early start for the BAC 1s this week but, after the great result the previous week, spirits were high.

We arrived at the school, finally worked out which car park (or, in some cases, not a car park) to park in and started our new warm up. We started the game nervously and a few manic minutes of unstructured hockey followed from both teams before BAC found their groove. The next 10/15 minutes were a repeat of the Leo game; quick passes, good communications and clinical finishing. After the ball was worked up the right by Liz, WP and Bish, the ball made its way to Tinny at the top of the D and she smashed it in for the first goal.

Leominster 1 – 7 BAC

At 6am on Saturday 20th February, the sound of 11 alarm clocks could be heard ringing around Bristol, as us BAC ladies got out of our beds, into our kits and then in to our cars (although Liz struggled with the car bit!) for the Leominster (Leo) away match. We didn’t mind the early start (I say we, Becky did) as we were pumped and up for it after a very motivating discussion earlier in the week care of Tinny and Sledger. After a quick change and a final captains chat from Tinny we were out warming up and getting ourselves in the headspace needed. We had hope and we wanted 3 points…..
