Leominster 1 – BAC 6 (31/01/15)

Written by – Katie Curly-Wurley-Woolly-Pulley

Hamstrings and Ham Pangs

It felt like the middle of the night when the BAC team left Bristol to start the long trip to Leominster. The cars were loaded with kitbags, Cava, Cherry Lambrini (of course) and a homemade cake from Maz. Getting up earlier than you do on a weekday definitely left some players thinking “would this trip be worth it?!” However, we were all conscious of the need to be positive after all the emails/discussion about hockey psychology so we were in a good frame of mind about the game.

A few hours later we arrived in Leominster and booked into our very own changing room. After a bit of a fashion show trying on the new sample jackets for size, we headed out onto the pitch. We were greeted by our very own Twitter feed author, Andrew, who had driven up especially to watch and tweet our progress. Lisa’s parents and friends also turned out to support meaning we had 5 or 6 eager supporters on the sidelines. We were also honoured by the attendance of West hockey’s First Lady, who had kindly agreed to be our umpire for the game.

Gloucester2 1 – BAC 2 (24/01/15)

Written by – Sally Lambert-Curnow

Another away trip for BAC this week. We took the seven seas of rye and the M5 to Gloucester to take on Gloucester2. After our defeat last week we were feeling a bit under pressure to win. During the warm up, something within Becky wanted to break free, but she carried on regardless! After a warm up and a Febreeze BAC were ready to go……

Lansdown 5 – BAC 0 (17/01/15)

Written by: Tinny ‘Two Pairs of Trainers’ Oliver

After a slightly longer lie in than usual on a Saturday we made our way in the cold, crisp morning sun to Gloucester to take on Landsdown (or was it Gloucester Woolley Pully?!)  Excitement was in the air in the pre-match warm up…..first league game after Crimbo, Bish and Tinny being able to play on the pitch they missed out on last year and the first team shopping trip of the year to look forward to on the way home!!  That was until we went into the changing rom and found a rather large unpleasant, smelly thing in the toilet making half the team heave in unison.  Things were left to Captain Kingers to ‘sort out’.  After the discovery and introduction of ‘ Dave’ (Ask Lucy for details) to the team, attention finally turned to the match!!

Stroud 1 – BAC 6 (29/11/14)

BAC started quickly & got short corner after short corner without any success. Stroud caught us with a quick break and we were struggling to keep up with Stroud’s Whippet, good keeping by Becky Bullet stopped it going in. BAC created so much pressure on the Stroud defence but we were struggling to get the ball in the back of the net. Finally the pressure pays off & from a short Tinny’s shot gets through.
