With a convincing win from last week’s friendly in Weston Super Mare BAC were ready to carry the winning form into the first league game of the season.

The majority of the team managed to turn up at our home pitch an hour early apart from Woollie-Pulley who gave the poor excuse of trying to locate her skirt! BAC warmed up with vigor and enthusiasm and were determined to start the season off as they mean to carry it on… with a winning attitude.

The Pretty One’s pre-match talk welcomed the seconds goalkeeper Kay temporally into the team. And with the warm welcomes and banter over with the team took their places on the pitch to face their opponents.

The push back seemed to coincide with the rain, however the Great British weather was not enough to dampen BAC or their skills and within the first 5 minutes Tinny scored the first  goal showing off how her new stick makes light work of the opponents defence.

Cheltenham CS quickly retook possession and tried time and time again to level the score. Their determination soon paid off with their continued pressure on the BAC defence ending in the scoreboard being equalised.

BAC dusted themselves off and soldiered on. We were not about to lose the first game with home advantage and Tinny soon scored, making the score 2-1 to BAC.

Lisa “The Pretty One” King showed no mercy, not content with winning 3-1 she wanted more and more goals so she took matters into her own hands and with the D beginning to look as crowded as a One Direction concert she managed to smash one in. Liz also wanted some of the goal scoring action and with amazing support from Bish and Sledger was able to hit the back board ending the first half 4-1 to BAC.

Half time sees the rain turn into drizzle according to Andrews twitter account! The team talk consisted of well dones and pats on the back from our captain. Doug, our coach gave us some choice advise and sent us back into battle!

With our heads back firmly in the game Liz quickly add another goal to BAC’s ever growing score. A second half short was awarded to BAC which sees Maz hitting it out to Tinny who taps and slams it in for her hatrick. BAC are goal hungry and they decide NOT to rest on their laurels, instead they break with a fast attack ending with Bish scoring sending the BAC lead soaring to 7-1.

The 8th goal comes from a textbook tactical move from BAC courtesy of a short. Maz hits it out to Tinny who taps and strikes it wide into the path of Maz who deflects the ball in. And just for good measure to ensure BAC actually win the game Sally Curnow gets on the end of a perfectly practiced training attacking move to end the game 9-1.
