Frome 2 – BAC 3

BAC made the trip to Frome for their second pre-season friendly, all looking dapper in our matching kits and all fired up and ready to win. The weather was slightly on the humid side (95% humid according to the met office) but that wasn’t going to deter BAC, nor was the slightly decrepit dugout, which we believe pre dates Hammy!!

Warmed up and raring to go, the whistle blew and off we went…..

…….straight from the off we attacked the Frome defence and piled on the pressure, mid field worked hard with Lisa and Sledger making some cracking runs up to Frome’s D, into Tinny, Lor and Sally who couldn’t quite finish off with a goal, not through want of trying!! BAC carried on pushing forward and worked the short sharp passes to our advantage. When Frome did break they didn’t stand much chance as all our defenders and Becks were all on form, with Woolly Pully diving in on tackles and Becks stopping the ball left right and centre!!

Despite the humid conditions BAC continued to attack, then came our first goal which came from a lovely peach of a pass from Tapper to Lor, who then passed beautifully into Tinny who reverse flicked it and BOOM goal time!! 0-1

This fired up BAC and we wanted more, after a few short corners were stopped by Frome defence we were awarded another, this time saw us do the ‘number 6’ details of this are classified in case any oppo are reading up on us! It did include Lisa and Tinny, Tinny fired it home!! 0-2.

In the dying minuets of the second half Frome sneaked in a goal. 1 – 2

Half Time

Second half started and a very hot and sweaty BAC attacked from the start, but so did Frome. They put pressure on our defence, who were having none of it Tapper, Hammy and Woolly Pully kept their attempts at bay, as did a clearly on fire this week Becky….who was so happy with one of her saves she did a little dance (see comments of the match for more details). Our mid field were working hard in pushing the ball forwards, Liz and Sledger wooing us with their one twos and Lisa charging up the line through player after player!! Sophie showed us she was super human by doing some fabulous tackles, she will be working on her angles for next week though!

Wanting another goal, BAC upped the attack, and with some brilliant work from Lor and Tinny pushing up the ball was more often than not in the Frome D. Tinny almost scored but unfortunately Sally’s head got in the way, seeing stars and 44 players on the pitch, she carried on. All the hard work from all of the team saw us finally awarded with another goal, this time the ball was from Hammy in defence out to Lor, who crossed it into Tinny who slammed it home for her hatrick!!! 1 – 3.

With some weird and wonderful umpiring in of defending end, Frome were awarded a short corner, which unfortunately was too good for our defenders and they grabbed back a goal.

The final whistle blew and it finished 2 – 3, an awesome game with some fabulous BAC spirit. Well done girls!!
